PIERCE GEARING UP FOR SUMMER LEGENDS RACING, VISITS TURNER FIELD

GRIFFIN, Ga. – Georgia’s Currie Pierce has been racing for most of the winter and early spring of 2009, but the most competitive and important races of the legends car season are just around the corner. Pierce, who races in the pro legends division, plans to compete this summer in both Atlanta Motor Speedway’s Thursday Thunder Series and Lowe’s Motor Speedway’s prestigious Summer Shootout Series on Tuesday nights. Both series are 10-race schedules; both begin in early June.

Pierce made every race in both series last summer, and hopes to fare well throughout his first summer in the pro legends class.

“Competition will be even tougher than last summer, but I think we have more experience and the car is working better than it was last year. We’re second in the points right now at Lanier (National Speedway, Ga.) and we’ve been running well in the pro class.” Read More..
